He is survived by his wife of 62 years, who was the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, and soul mate, Beverly Jean (Lancaster) Huston and his daughter, Deborah Jean Huston, son, Jeffrey Lee Huston, daughter in law, Sherry Huston, brother, Danny Carl Huston and sister in law, Shirley Huston. Fred was the patriarch over a host of grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Anderson and wife Vanessa Anderson, Ryan Anthony Anderson, Kandice Jo Scudamore and husband John Scudamore, Kendal Dawn Peterson and husband, Cody Peterson. Fred's great grandchildren are Rachel Edwards and husband, Ethan Edwards, Kristyn Caldwell, Kaci Caldwell, Aubrey Anderson, Maddison Anderson and Cooper Anderson. Fred was also blessed with great, great grandchildren, Lincoln Wolf Edwards, Jason Daniel Edwards, Brayden Alan Root and another baby on the way! He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred was a 1959 graduate of Southeast High School in Oklahoma City and later attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Fred had an amazing insurance career and was accomplished with numerous awards and recognitions within his industry throughout his career. He and his wife owned Fred L. Huston and Associates Insurance Agency for 35 years until their retirement.
Fred's passions were family, playing golf, fishing and studying the Word. He never faltered in beginning his day and ending his evening in prayer and reading God's Word. He was an advisor and priest of his family.
Fred was an avid OU and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. He loved supporting OU girls softball and was able to cheer them on to their title win this year and celebrated their victory just before his final victory.
Fred gave his heart to the Lord on August 9th, 1959 and faithfully served his Lord and Savior for over 62 years. He taught Sunday school for many different age groups for over 55 years and was instrumental in leading many souls to the Lord which he considered his greatest accomplishments.
Fred was known for his love of cars. The family finally lost count of exactly how many cars he has owned after the purchase of his 75th vehicle and anyone who knew Fred, knew better than to try to eat or drink in one of his cars as they were always pristine and his pride and joy.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A funeral service in honor of Fred is scheduled for Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
