Floyd Everett Casto, 83, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019 and went to live with his Lord and Savior, whom he trusted his entire life after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and debilitating Arthritis.
Everett was born on May 7th, 1935 in Wichita, Kansas to Floyd and Iris Casto, who preceded him in death. Also, he was preceded by his sister, Iris Darlene Casto and son, Craig Eugene Casto; grandson, Allen Joseph Ward. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, LeeDora Annette; Daughter Machelle and husband, Farley Ward of Choctaw, OK.; Daughter, Elisa and husband Craig Anderson of Sand Springs, OK.; Son, Bradley Casto of Norman, OK.; Son, Brian and wife, Julie Casto of Rogers, Arkansas; Sister, Laura Rogene Casto of Norman, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Everett graduated from Wichita North High School in 1954. He met his future wife, LeeDora Annette Mundahl, at a church party and eloped a year later, on November 19, 1955 in Newton, Kansas. Everett worked as an X-Ray Technician for many years before moving to Oklahoma City in 1970. He became a stay-at-home father in 1971 after the death of his first son.
In 1972, advanced handyman skills and knowledge led to him building the family home by hand in Cashion, OK. He loved solving crossword puzzles and perfecting his penmanship through writing. He looked forward to family vacations and new adventures. He was always easy to visit with and found humor in something every day. Everett was an avid antique collector and especially fond of antique clocks and watches. He adored animals especially his two Maltese dogs and two horses. Everett and his lovely wife are longtime members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Edmond, Oklahoma. He leaves a legacy to his family and will be missed dearly.
Viewing will be at Hahn-Cook/ Street & Draper Saturday, January 19th from 1pm-8pm, and Sunday, January 20th from 8am-8pm. Services will be held on January 21st, 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond, OK.
