Fern Alletris Moore

Fern Alletris (Shotton) Moore, an absolute “Angel on Earth,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Fern was born on April 24, 1926, of parents Ernest and Leota Shotton. She had one brother, Ernie, who passed away in 2005. Fern was a lifetime member of the Choctaw community, attending the Choctaw schools from the 1st grade in 1931, to graduation in 1943. She attended Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) in 1945, and was always proud that this was the ONLY year OSU was college football’s National Champions! Fern married Frank Moore in 1946, just after Frank returned from Marine Corps service in the Pacific in World War II. They were married for 45 years until Frank’s passing in 1991. Fern retired from Tinker AFB in 1984 after 30 years of service. Fern is survived by her son, Alan R. Moore (Teresa), and two daughters, Sherri K. Johnston (L.D.), and Kathy D. Brown (Larry). She is also survived by three Grandsons, Matt and Jeff Brown, and Richard Johnston, plus two Great Grandchildren, Katy Brown and Wyatt Johnston. Fern is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.

Services will be at the First Baptist Church of Choctaw, where Fern has been a member for many years. The services will be held on Wednesday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m.
