Vella Eloise Murdoch, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted woman of faith, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City at the age of 93.
Born on June 20, 1931, in Arkansas, Eloise later made her home in Alice, Texas, before settling in Oklahoma City. She was a woman of deep faith and unwavering love, dedicating her life to God and her family. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her loved ones, and she touched countless lives through her kindness, prayers, and encouragement.
Eloise is survived by her son, Randy Murdoch, and his wife, Tammie, along with their children Jacob, Aaron, and Shanna; and her daughter, Janice Murdoch, and her children Blake and Devon. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Brandon and Ashlye Lawson, James Murdoch and his wife, Joy, and Sara Horn and her husband, Justin, numerous great-grandchildren whom she deeply loved and adored, and her sister, Sherry Baumanis, and her husband, George. Her church family was also a vital part of her life, providing her with community, faith, and purpose.
She had a long and dedicated career, first retiring as a PBX operator from Sears & Roebuck before continuing her service at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, where she retired once more.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Bone and Virginia Powers; her husband, James Murdoch Sr.; her son, James Melvin Jr.; and her daughter, Catherine Elizabeth.
Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, March 26,2025 at Together Church, 401 SW 44th St, OKC, OK, 73109, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. A visitation will be held from 4 pm – 7 pm on Tuesday, March 25,2025 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave, OKC, OK 73159.
