Elizabeth “Betty” Chesley passed away on February 8, 2013 after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born December 14, 1934 in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania, the twelfth of thirteen children. Betty moved to California in 1955 and met the love of her life Richard Chesley. They were married on November 26, 1960. A job transfer brought Betty and her family to Oklahoma in 1977, where they raised their three children. She remained active in the St. Charles Catholic Church in several capacities, a few of them being a Eucharistic minister and part of the bowling league. Betty also did volunteer work as a reading tutor in elementary schools. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard E. Chesley, Sr.; Three children, Richard Jr. (Michelle), Michael (Christy) and Michele (Geno), as well as her grandchildren Glenn, Tripp, Grace, Jacob, Mia and Rhett. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the St. Charles Borromeo School. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Copper Lake Estates Assisted Living as well as Dr. Mohamed Kanaa.
