Born July 4, 1931, to dry-land-farmers in Crawford, Nebraska. A strong, honest girl grew into a beautiful, indomitable woman who loved the Lord and his gifts.
She married Donald Williams in 1950. Living with him in five states and Canada, she ended up dividing her time between Oklahoma City and the Swinging W Ranch, near Boley, OK. They would have celebrated their 70th Anniversary on August 31st.
Growing up in Nebraska, Elaine attended a one-room school and ended up teaching all eight grades in a one-room school. She was proud of her farming heritage. She realized a life-long dream of driving large vehicles becoming a Putnam City school bus driver for 21 years.
The most important role in Elaine’s life was as a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She is survived by her children: Charles Sidney [Chris]; Steven Ray [Brenda]; Judy-Ann Hoos [Lex]; Jeffrey Lee; and Donald Darwin [Laurie]; nine grandchildren: Jessica and Clayton Williams; Corey and Cameron Williams; Tiffany and Jeremy Hoos; Madeline Loosen; and Logyn and Dawson Williams; and seven great-grandchildren. Mom’s family was her greatest love.
Mom was an excellent seamstress, needle worker, quilter, cook, and homemaker. As a tireless volunteer and active community member, she shared her talents with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, sang in the church choir and was a devoted member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).
Mom was our connection and compass. She kept in touch with her extended family and many friends from all over the States and Canada. Mom treated everyone with courtesy and respect. It is tough to find anyone who did not consider her a friend if they met her even once.
Memorial Contributions may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church: LWML. Online condolences can be expressed at Baggerley.com
Services will be 2pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 presided by Pastor McMullin with interment services in Harrison, NE. She will be laid to rest in her beloved Nebraska prairie home through Chamberlain Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Quail Ridge. We would especially like to thank Ashley Duke and Physicians Choice for their exceptional compassionate care.
