Edward Ray Thompson, 68, passed away December 6, 2014. Edward was born in Thomas, OK on September 5, 1946. He attended and graduated from OSU where he once proudly played Pistol Pete. He was drafted into the US Army in 1969 and proudly served in Vietnam with the First Calvary and K-9 Unit. He was most proud to serve with his loyal German shepherd friend, Duke. Edward enjoyed shooting pool earning the name “Fast Eddie”, playing darts, and spending time on his platoon boat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mattie Lola Thompson; brother, Ronald, and sister, Sandra. He is survived by wife Shelby; stepson, Timothy Burroughs; brother, Joe; nieces Joanna and husband, Brian Mooney, Kristin Selman, Charis Spedale, Erica and husband Kwin Mesusan, Stacey and husband Jason Parten; aunts, Zerita Kiesau and Zelma Morris; numerous cousins and many, many friends. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
