I knew Ed in the army.  He was a Specialist in G-2,and I believe he had a Top Secret security clearnce.  He was a brilliant guy and a good friend.  He left me with a lot of happy memories.   Rest in peace Ed.  Jim Hunt,

Syl, you mentioned giving folks a chance to share memories of Ed.  What a nice idea!  An early memory I have, happened in October, 1955. Bev was Homecoming Queen at Caldwell that year.  I remember she took her ride around the football field in a classy convertible.  I was near the car when it completed its lap and remember Ed was there (coming from Oklahoma City) to surprise Bev as she finished her part of the halftime crowning.  He hopped into the car beside her.  What a happy couple they were then---and always were to me!

I have a neat picture in our wedding album of the Ed Cox family.  Bev was attending our guestbook.  Ed is signing the book with little Brent and Bart looking on (August, 1965).  

One of the many times they were appreciated was when Dad was taking Mother to Oklahoma City for experimental treatments for altzheimers.  I drove them down at least twice.  Ed and Bev opened their home and helped the folks (and me) feel welcome.

We all will miss Ed's smile and welcoming way he had about him.  As we think of him now we pray that the many good memories you have will continue to help comfort you as time eases the pain of his loss.

Anyone who knew Ed was truly blessed.  His constant smile was contagious and his frequent jokes and stories made everyone laugh!!!  Ed's memory and legacy will live on in everyones heart. You are missed today and always.

All the glowing tributes to Ed in the preceding messages are true, I can't say it any better put it more eloquently. What I will say is that we lived next door to Ed and Bev for 14 years and those were best years of my life due in part to these two wonderful people. Never to be repeated always to be remembered.

Ed was a great man, and a good role model in my life.  He and Bev were always a pleasure to be around.  Thanks for the memories.

I can never fully express my gratitude to Ed, without his influence in my life early on, I might have become a tele-evangelist instead of a business man. Ed gave me a chance to work at W.J. Jones it lasted 4 summer's during my University days and beyond.  I still remember how much fun it was to put on the Kool-Aid man suit and travel the state.  I learned lot from Ed as he would travel with me to the ball games.  And seeing Ed and Bev over the years, just confirmed his influence on my life.  From going to church, dinners at the house etc.  Bev our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Beverly, Bart, Syl & Nolan---I am so sorry that I cannot be in OKC to share all the wonderful memories that I know people will be speaking of tomorrow. It's obvious that Ed touched many lives in big and little ways. He definitely touched mine as we kicked off IT Resources and I will forever be grateful for his encouragement and support during that special time in mine and Sylvia's lives. He literally helped one of my dreams come true and in typical Ed fashion, he did it gladly and with a smile--just generous to the core. I'm sending love and prayers your way everyday. Syl---I was thinking about the first Ed story I heard and it was your story of when you first met Ed & Beverly. It has to do with Whoopi Goldberg. Remember? It still makes me laugh! Love, Barb.

I will always remember the laughter I had with Ed when I first started to work with him.  He was a true joy to be around, and will truely be missed.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bev, I  am very saddened to hear of Ed's passing. This is a very difficult time for you and your family. I know the friends he made at John Marshall will all miss him very much. I am thinking of you and praying for you to have the strength to carry you through the days ahead.  I hope you can focus on the good memories and the enjoyable times you all had with Ed.

Aunt Bev and Family. . . Words cannot express our feelings of love and loss. Uncle Ed touched so many people and brought such joy and fun to so many lives, especially to his family who loved him dearly.  We will treasure him in our hearts always, and will keep you in our prayers.  The picture of Eddie and Dad on the fishing trip is exactly how I picture them today...the  sun is shining, the trout are biting,  Dad's reel has plenty of fishing line.. .  and there are no tears....or speeding tickets...in Heaven! Bev, how our hearts hurt for you and feel the sorrow you are experiencing!  I (Phyllis) first met 'Eddie' back in high school when you were sweethearts!  Ed had such a sense of humor he was always a joy to be around! We will miss him at the reunions!  Cherish your memories and remember him for all the joy and laughter he spread along his path!
Proverbs 3:4-5 is a wonderful scripture that you can hold in your heart.  God is with you and loves you!

I first met Ed in 1966 when he was with Lipton. Ed, Henry (Wrigley) and I was with Lever Bros. in Tulsa. The three of us had pizza a few times in Stillwater while traveling. Ed was certainly a real gentleman. Also had breakfast with Ed a couple of months back. I counted him a real friend.

Ed was such an inspiriation to me while working together for several years at W. J. Jones Company. I have taken several trips down memory road and often spoke of Ed with so many stories of the many treasured times he and I shared together. Beverly, I always enjoyed working with you, especially at times on projects that included decorating the building.

Without a doubt, the funniest and most enjoyble invitations of my life have been those spent at the table of Ed and Bev Cox.  Ed had the gift of humor and with every encounter could induce great laughter...but...those who knew him like I did also knew him as a man who would give you his shirt off his back if you asked, teach you fairness and the right thing to do in any situation, share his time without end, and just plain make you proud to have him as a friend.  I will miss him dearly and thankful to have known him and certain that great experience and example will live on in me until my end.  I will always be here for you Bev for anything.
