Eddie was born June 10th, 1937 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Edd and Pauline Vass with much joy and anticipation. He graciously served his country through the United States Army. After military service he received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central State College. On July 2nd, 1960 he married the love of his life Opal Mae Mattingly. They raised two sons Curtis and Kim.
Evangelical missions as well as the military were two of Eddie’s passions. He also loved the Oklahoma Sooners, and especially enjoyed any and all sporting events. He was also an avid lover of travel and the performing arts, especially music. He was known for his quick wit, his servant’s heart, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father Edd and mother Pauline. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Opal and their two sons and daughters-in-law; Curtis, Selynda, Kim and Ginger, grand-children; Terry, Tiara, Christin, Logan, Pierce, Gabriel, Jonah, four great grand-children, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
