On November 2, 2020, he went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and joined June Poindexter Madison, the love of his life, who recently passed on October 20, 2020, his parents and grandparents.
He attended Oklahoma City public schools graduating from Classen High School in 1950. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, but was interrupted by military service during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he resumed studies by enrolling at Oklahoma City University. At this time, he met and married the love of his life, A. June Poindexter Madison. They were blessed to be married for 66+ wonderful years.
Earl gave his heart to Jesus when he was 8 years old and loved serving his Lord through giving, ministering, singing, greeting, praying, volunteering and serving on various church, hospital, bank boards, and committees. He loved reading and teaching the Bible and working on service projects from his youth until his death. Earl was also an ordained Lay Pastor.
Earl and June developed, owned and managed a group of specialty clothing stores: Tammy-Linn Youth Fashions for children and youth, Village Buggy for Women, and Guy Madisons for boys and young men. For 25 years, they strived to serve their faithful customers with entertaining décor, quality merchandise, and with loving, helpful employees. They honored God by never opening stores on Sunday, the Lord’s day.
After retiring from the retail business, Earl spent 20 years in the Home Mortgage field helping clients make wise decisions on home purchase mortgages and home refinancing.
Earl was an active member of Crossings Community Church where he worshipped, taught, greeted and served.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife June Madison.
He is survived by their much-loved children Earl (Guy) Madison III and wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City; Jana Madison Ratliff and husband Steve of Edmond, OK; Julie Madison Benear of Edmond, OK.
He is also survived by ten wonderful grandchildren: Kristin Madison Lewis (& Burke); Lindsey Madison Pennington (& Chad); Chad Madison; Hannah, Maddie, Olivia Madison; Kimberly (& Shane) Kessler; Jerry (& Misty) Duvall; Shannon (& Randy) Kakish; Kaylee Benear: ten great-grand children, Lily and Lucy Lewis; Aidan and Landon Pennington; Justin, Jordan, Noah, Hailey Duvall; Jayden Kakish, Jakobi Benear; Sister Linda Hibbs and Niece LeeAnn Alexander. Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Clayton & MaryAnn Poindexter & Niece Monica Stasyszen & husband Rick; one great-niece and three great-nephews; one great-great niece and one great-great nephew.
