Duane Sellers

Duane Sellers was born November 19, 1942 at Comanche, Oklahoma. His parents were J. C. and Margarite Mae Sellers of rural area of Indiahoma, OK. Duane attended the Indiahoma Schools. He graduated from Indiahoma School May 1960. Duane enjoyed playing baseball and basketball for Indiahoma School.

After completing high school, he attended Cameron College. After two years at Cameron College, he transferred to Oklahoma State University. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor of science degree in Business in May, 1964.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve. He attended basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. After completing his basic training, he returned to Lawton, Ok and worked at City National Bank for a year.

He met Judy Council in July 1965. On March 12, 1966 Duane and Judy were married at the Indiahoma Baptist Church. They established a home in Lawton, but decided to return to Oklahoma State University to pursue a Masters Degree Agricultural Economics in September 1968. He received his masters degree in 1970.

Duane started his employment with Farmers Home Administration in 1971. He retired from the Farmers Home Administration after 30 years. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling, working around the home, and watching ballgames. His requirement for him to watch something was a ball being involved. His favorite teams to watch were OSU any sport and Thunder.

Duane is survived by his wife, Judy Sellers and his children, Susan Sellers and Michael Sellers of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Marguerite Sellers and his brother, Dwight Sellers.

He is survived by his brother Lonnie Sellers and his wife Arlene Sellers, his sister Juana Stoll and his sisters-in-law Mickey Sellers and Mary Sullivent of Edmond, Oklahoma. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Duane will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 2 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Duane will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Sellers, Tim Townsend, Brian Braly, Derek Smith, Cole Gable, Stephen Sellers and Brett Townsend.
