Donna Sue Sloan passed from this life on March 7, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Memorial Park Funeral Home and a celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 15th at Calvary Church of the Nazarene at 3100 N. Rockwell in Bethany. The service will be livestreamed on facebook at www.facebook.com/MemorialParkOKC and the video will not begin until 1:55pm.
Donna was born on Nov. 1, 1962 to James Robert Hall and Rachel Mae (Heidebrecht) Hall in Atlantic, Iowa. She grew up in Iowa and in 1981, she graduated from Clinton High School. Following high school, Donna relocated to OKC to be near her family. In 1983, Donna gave birth to her son Brian Jay Cox Jr.
Donna worked hard to ensure that she was able to provide the best possible life for Brian Jay Cox Jr. She attended beauty school and soon after she accepted a stylist position at Christopher’s Salon in OKC. Several years later she went to work at Tips to Toes Salon in OKC. Eventually she opened her own salon, The Shop, where she formed great friendships with many of her clients. She was fortunate to be able to retire in December of 2021.
Donna met Brian Sloan on a night where she was out with her friends. She quickly forgot about Brian Sloan and was shocked to receive a call from him the next day asking her out. She was hesitant but eventually gave in to Brian Sloan’s persistence. Over 20 years later they were still together and their love for each other is truly unmatched. Much of Donna’s love attention had been redirected to her beloved grandson Hudson. Brian Sloan accepted this new reality and soon after, Hudson had Brian Sloan wrapped around his very small pinky finger. Brian Jay gave Donna the most precious gift with the birth of Hudson. Donna enjoyed any and all time she was able to spend with him and watching him learn and grow brought so much joy to her life.
In 2016, Brian Sloan got into the real estate business. This never would have happened without Donna’s encouragement and belief in Brian. Over the next 8 years Donna served as Brian’s Vice President, photographer, and head cheerleader. Despite many attempts to get herself fired, they both knew that Brian Sloan could not and would not do this without her support.
Donna was a kind and caring woman who possessed a quiet strength. She had an excellent sense of humor, and she was a talented and gifted garage sale and bargain shopper. Donna was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She left an unmistakable mark on the lives of those around her, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents James and Rachel Hall and her two brothers Thomas Duane Hall and William Ray Hall. She is survived by her husband Brian Sloan, son Brian Jay Cox Jr. and wife Chelsey, grandson Hudson, and six siblings: Jim Hall, Larry Hall and wife Kay, Bob Hall and wife Joyce, Judy Westmoreland, Barbara Smith and husband Mike, Dave Hall and wife Debi, and sister in laws Julie Hall and Sonja Kay Hall. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Lisa Reed, Kim Barnes, Scott Hall, Wayne Hall, Kristin Hess, Todd Musser, Jeff Musser, Mark Musser, Bud Hall (aka Doug), Angie Tucker, Brian Smith, Brooke Smith, Ben Hall, Lindsay Bonham, Whitney Pendleton, and Tommy Hall, in addition to numerous other family members and beloved friends.
