Donald Ray Brown was born September 16, 1935 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Fredrich and Ruby Jennings Brown. He passed from this life February 18, 2020 in Denison, Texas at the age of 84. Don received a BA in American Studies from Golden Gate University. He joined the Air Force as an Airman where he was singled-out and forwarded to Officers Candidate School, where he excelled as an officer candidate and student pilot. He was a Vietnam Vet, flying 0-1/0-2s out of NHP in 1967 and 1968. A recipient of the Silver-Star, the Air Medal, and three Distinguished Flying Crosses. He taught T-38s for much of his career, served as an American Air Force Liaison to the Thai Military and finished flying E-3As out of Tinker, where he was Squadron Commander of the 965th Squadron. He retired after 29 years, where he then flew heavy metal for oil companies and Oklahoma dignitaries like the Mathis Brothers, Senator Birdsong, Cary Grant and execs from Anderson and Eason Oil. Don is survived by his wife Judy Brown; sons Richard Brown of Midwest City and Joel Brown and Daughter-in-law Kathy with grandsons Brandon and Blake of Coppell, TX and a host of loved relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Event Center, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141
