Donald Wilson Banks was born on November 19, 1949 to Mary Francis Parker and Cardell Banks in Shawnee, Oklahoma. At a young age he attended the Church of Christ and later became a member. Don received his education at Dunbar High School in Shawnee, OK. Later getting a trade as a machinist at Job Corps in Texas. Don retired after 20 years from Circor Corporation. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching his favorite team the OU Sooners play football. Don was a devoted father, a loving husband who always took care of his family.
He was a quiet man with a big heart, who loved to joke and laugh. Everyone who knew him always had great things to say about him and loved to be in his company. He also enjoyed being at the lake and loved to cook and to eat his late night snacks.
He’s proceeded in death by his mother and father, oldest daughter, Kanisha Dawn Banks and wife, Arolyn Loggins Banks, and best friend, Linda Kaye Jefferson Banks, three brothers, James and Timothy Banks and Robert Smith.
Don leaves to cherish in his memory, youngest daughter, Angelique Chanelle Banks, his son, Micheal Eugene Jefferson, one grandson, Mikel Karon Traile Banks, two granddaughters, Malaya Kehlsi Dawn Banks, Mikayla Sinae Jefferson, one stepdaughter, Ronda Neighbors, three stepsons, Curtis Houze, Patrick Houze, Torrance Cooper, one sister, Delpheia Smith, and four brothers, Charles Parker, Cardell Banks, David and Daniel Smith, fourteen step grandkids, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends whom love him dearly.
