The dawn of a new day began Dec 12, 2011 as David opened his eyes for the first time in the Kingdom of Heaven. He was born Aug 20, 1938 to Gaylord and Lorene Walker near Minco, Oklahoma David had a steadfast faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. He cherished and loved his family and the traditions and joy of family life. David loved people, having never met a stranger. He always had a story to share, a firm handshake and a strong opinion on almost everything. David loved the farm and could always be found in the garden or looking for new baby calves in the pasture. This was David's life and to him it was the best. David's career included retirement from Bendix HVSG, Co-ownership of Fleet Auto, Inc., Edmond, retirement from OU Health Sciences and part-time sales at Tractor Supply Edmond. David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years , Mary; two daughters, Terri (Richard) Akers and Robin (Michael) Stevenson; three grand-children, Erick and Cheyenne Akers and Dani Stevenson; and two great-granddaughters, Mya and Izzy. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Richard. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. M. Shane Hull, Dr. Mark Lynn and the loving compassionate caretakers of Edmond ICU. Services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, December 16, 2011 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, NE; 8805 N.E. 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
