David B. Smith

David Brian Smith, 55, passed away November 19, 2014. David was born September 4, 1959 in Albuquerque, NM to Ted and Peggy Smith. David proudly served our country when he enlisted into the United States Navy serving from 1976-1982. David worked many positions, while in the Navy he worked in the engine room, after he left the military he worked as carpet layer and then opened his own business 25 years ago, ABC Carpet. David married Teri Smith in 1983, and from that union came his two daughters, Lindsey and Anna Smith. David met Kathy Wren in 1994 and they later married in 2002 and from this union came their son, Braeden. David enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies, bowling, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends while cheering for his favorite teams, OU Sooners and the Pittsburg Steelers. David is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ted and Tom Smith; and niece, Christin Strickland. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kathy Smith; daughters, Lindsey Smith Shipman and husband Chris and Anna Smith and fiancé Craig Everett; son, Braeden Smith; grandson, Carter Shipman; nephews, Todd and Brian Smith; and brother, Gary Smith. Services will be 11:30am, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
