Born to Hugh and Wilmina Kincheloe in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on August 27, 1936, Dana was welcomed into her heavenly home on September 10, 2021, when she passed peacefully from this life to her eternal reward. Dana always remained true to her faith and in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that a better home was prepared and awaited her.
Dana grew up in Tulsa during her younger years and eventually moved to Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Central High School. A career as a book keeper with Lowe Runkle Advertising gave her the opportunity to make lifelong friends including a special “sister”, Debbie Hay, who remained a true friend for life.
A life long Sooner fan, she and husband Johnny were season ticket holders for many years and the OU-Texas weekend in Dallas was always a special time with family and friends.
Dana was also a longtime member of Baptist Temple and was deeply rooted in her Christian faith.
Dana was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate, Johnny, with who she is now reunited after many years; her parents; her sister Linda Paschal; special grandmother Goldie Mae; mother-in-law Sophia Merkouris; sisters-in-law Connie, Lib, and Catherine; brother-in-law P. James Demopolos; niece Tonia Wright and husband Jerry; and nephew Jim Demopolos.
Dana is survived by her only child, Joey; nephews and nieces Chris Wright, Kim Bardill, Brad and David Paschal, and their respective spouses and children.
Besides being the most loving mother, she was also the best friend a son could ever have. She will be sorely missed.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Fairlawn Cemetery, 2700 N. Shartel ave. Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorials be in the form of a donation to one’s favorite charity or one of Dana’s favorites, The City Rescue Mission.
