Clara was born December 17, 1923, in Fancy Prairie, IL at her grandmother's house on the Illinois prairie, to Otto P. and Gillie (Young) Conley.
When she was young, the family moved to Lincoln, IL where she attended Lincoln Elementary, Lincoln High School and Lincoln College.
After college, she moved to Chicago where she worked for the Chicago Sun Times and Marshall Field. There she met Arthur Gentille. They were married at the Chicago Temple November 27, 1948. Soon after, they moved to Oklahoma City and started a family with 1 daughter, Gail. They resided in the Village.
Clara worked for many years at Morris Chevrolet and continued on until it became Smicklas Chevrolet, as a bookkeeper. After a short retirement she went back to work for Kerr McGee in their oil and gas leasing department, until her retirement again in 1981, so she could spend time with her first grandson, Sean.
She loved being a grandma and doing things with her grandchildren. She also loved traveling. Probably her favorite trips were to Russia and Hawaii, but she enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas. She enjoyed cake decorating and had made some beautiful cakes for friends and family. She liked playing games, any kind of game. During her illness, she missed her weekly trip every Thursday to the beauty shop to see Judy, going to Target and she missed her special friend and neighbor of 50 years, Betty Stallings.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Gillie Conley, and her husband of 40 years, Arthur. She is survived by her daughter Gail Ralston and son-in-law David. 3 grandsons, Sean Ralston and wife Rachel of Edmond, Trevor Ralston of Austin, TX and Brian Ralston of Oklahoma City, 2 great grandchildren, Carter and McKenzie Ralston, of Edmond.
