Clara Baker, 81, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Oklahoma City. She was the widow of Gary E. Baker, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Clara was born on June 28, 1945, in Richland, California, to Ophelia Brown and Fanny McNeeley.
After obtaining her GED, Clara pursued further education and earned a master's degree in computer science. While continuing her studies at Mid-America OCCC, she worked for Moore School Systems in the cafeteria and later retired from Cheyenne and Arapaho Nation as a computer lab instructor. Clara enjoyed classic movies such as "Arsenic and Old Lace," as well as collecting rocks, painting, tending to flowers, animals, and nature, and having coffee on her porch. She will be remembered as a foodie, and for her love of naps, laughter, watching movies, and most importantly her love for the Lord.
Clara is survived by her children: Ophelia Donelson, Heather Baker, Ronnie Anglin, and Ron Fincher; five grandchildren as well as seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved cats and dogs. She is preceded in death by her husband; Gary E. Baker, her sister; Elizabeth Eggert, and her brothers; Jack McNeeley and Ricky Fincher.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at noon, with Clara’s funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation, 7720 S Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK. Interment will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK following the service.
