On April 7, Christine Wagner's earthly life ended at the age of 96, a peaceful exit, after a long life well lived. Born in Asher, Oklahoma to Russell Houk and Grace Jackson Houk, she had one brother, Carl, and the two of the grew up together in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a good student and worked part-time at the Enid Library, which led to an introduction to the OSU Librarian, and a job offer that made college possible. She met and married her college sweetheart, Roy Julian Wagner, and then WWII interrupted their lives, and he was a pilot flying in the China-Burma-India Theater. They had two children, R.J. and Linda, became active in their church and community, and started a family photography business, Wagner Studio, with his brother Leslie. Christine was a devoted wife for 68 years, an inspiring mother, Grandmother of two, and Great Grandmother of five. She had a sharp intellect and keen sense of humor. She and her husband Roy, loved travel, music, volunteerism, Garden Club, Questors, MacDowell, their church, and family times. Some people make a difference in this world just by being remembered fondly as a loyal friend and gracious lady, having richly blessed the lives of those who loved her. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, son R.J., and husband Roy. She will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Linda Wagner Nelson, daughter-in-law, Beth Ross and Ian and Sabrina Wagner, and her great grandchildren, Julia, Nicholas, Charlie, Skylar, and Marcus, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Her Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on May 6, 2017 at 10:30am at Putnam City United Methodist Church, 5819 NW 41st Street, OKC, OK 73122. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Endowment Fund of the church, or the charity of your choice.
