She was born March 18, 1943 in Mebane, North Carolina to Elmer Jefferies and Rena Burnette. In 1963, she married Theodore Kennedy Jr. and moved to Lawrenceville, NJ. Cecile spent most of her life working and raising her children. In her leisure time, Cecile loved playing scrabble. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her best friend, Faye Streater, who passed in 2021. In 2011, she moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family.
Cecile is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Kennedy Jr., who passed in 2009 after 46 years of marriage. She is survived by her two sons, Theodore (Hank) Kennedy III of Edmond, OK and Anthony (Tony) Kennedy of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her sister Faye Taylor and two grandchildren, Eric and Miranda.
A private graveside ceremony is planned for December in New Jersey.
