Cecelia, better known by her family and friends as “G-Momma,” was born on February 10, 1948 in Arlington, TX to Charles and Ordis (Orr) Kight. The family later relocated to Calvin, OK. Cecelia attended Purcell Public Schools and was a gifted athlete. She played basketball, volleyball, and softball before graduating from Purcell High School with honors in 1966. She would go on to matriculate to a women’s university, East Central University, and the University of Oklahoma.
Cecelia accepted a position with Western Electric where she would go on to meet the love of her life, Bernard Anderson. Cecelia and Bernard soon married and this union was blessed with the love of both of their lives, a son, Ryan Bernard Anderson. She has been a dedicated grandmother to Nevaeh Yvonne Anderson, who she spoiled and loved unconditionally. The last word Cecelia spoke was the name “Nevaeh.” Cecelia was a loving mother, a caring sister, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Nellie Woods Kight, her sister James Etta Williams, and her aunt Bernice Surus-Davis. She is survived by her son Ryan Bernard Anderson and wife Sonya Anderson of OKC; her granddaughter Nevaeh Yvonne Anderson of OKC; two sisters: Liz Parker of OKC and Diane Dockins of Moore, OK.
