On September 4, 2014 Carolyn Frances Wright passed away surrounded by her family. She was born on November 11, 1935 to Helen Winters Wright, and A.M. Wright. She attended Classen High School, Abilene Christian College, Pepperdine University, Oklahoma Christian University, & The University of Oklahoma. Her career included working at The First National Bank, The Oklahoma Blood Institute, and she had her own interior design company for many years. Later in life she was a successful real estate agent and mortgage banker. She enjoyed serving on many committees such as the OU School of Dance and Fine Arts, OKC Libraries and was a sustaining member of the Junior League. Carolyn was a very loving and giving mother, grandmother, and friend. She had many wonderful life long friends who will miss her dearly. Some of her favorite times were spent having lunch with the Girls, spending time with her grandchildren who knew her as G-Ma, and dinners at Junior’s with her great friend Chip. She also enjoyed sewing club, where never a stitch was sewn, Sunday brunch at Lake Hefner Grill, and always Friday Night dinner
Club. Some of Carolyn’s favorite summers were spent at the family cabin in Colorado. There, she had a great time with her family fishing, hiking, jeep trips to beautiful lakes for picnics, and great games of dominos. She took many trips to Santa Fe to visit her sister Barbara, daughter Cheryl, and her grandchildren. She had an outstanding sense of humor, and was truly unique. Carolyn is survived by her two children Cheryl W. Demas and husband Mike, Ciane Hogan and her husband Brad, her sister Barbara Arrington, her brother Dick L. Wright, her grandchildren Jordan, Hayden, and Clayton Demas, Caton, Sam, and Daniel Hogan, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her best buddy and dog Randy, whom she named after her good friend Randy Morgan. A very special thanks goes out to Hayden and Miriam, who were amazing throughout her final months. Along with her daughters, this special care made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her home with Randy. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 13th at Hahn-Cook /Street & Draper. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
