Carol Ann “Rabbitt” Bales, 63 of Mustang, Oklahoma passed away April 19, 2013. She was born June 5, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri to Floyd Junior Pettus and Evelyn Louise (Hatchett) Pettus. Carol dedicated her life to nursing, starting as a Candy Striper in her youth and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in nursing from Southern Nazarene University,which gave her the Registered Nurse status. She retired from Integris Medical Center after 23 years of service. Carol met her husband on a blind date in 1969 in Little Rock, Arkansas and they married January 10, 1970. An avid reader, she always had a book with her ever since she was first able to read. She was a good listener with a kind, caring attitude, you couldn’t go anywhere with Carol without someone coming up and starting a conversation with her The one thing we will always remember about Carol is her love of dancing to Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll".
Carol is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Bales; her children, Janet Brawner, Cheryl Burk, and Ruth Fowler; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; mother, Evelyn Louise Pettus; and siblings Virginia Wright, Leslie Pettus, and Kent Pettus.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
