Calvin Leroy Watts

Calvin L. Watts, of Bethany, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, surrounded by the loving presence of his family and friends ending his long battle with cancer. He was born on October 7, 1935, in Eagle City, Oklahoma to Marie Hall and Ty Watts and was the oldest of 9 children. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his brother Bill (PeeWee), Don and Dave, three sisters Lois, Linda and Judy; his companion, Anita Mears, daughter, Rhonda Burgess, son, Calvin Watts II, son, Charles Watts and wife Gina, daughter, Callie Thomas and husband Brad, stepson Ricky Hoyt, ex-wife Janie Conkle, ex-wife Connie and, 11 grandchildren and one great grandson, along with numerous extended family and friends. Calvin served in the Navy for five years, and then worked numerous jobs, including Western Electric, before beginning his company C. Watts and Sons Construction Co. in 1963. Over the years he has owned many businesses throughout the city, including a few bars. Calvin was a larger than life man who never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by many. He will live on through abundant memories from his friends, dedicated employees and family whose lives he touched along the way.
