Billy Jack was preceded in death by his parents; Ellen "Mae" and John Morrissey as well as his brother; James Morrissey, sisters; Beatrice, Betty and Helen Morrissey, and son; Sean Ray Morrissey. Billy Jack is survived by two brothers; Ray and John Morrissey, sister; Penny, and three children, Billy, Mary, and Brian Morrissey. He also leaves behind his 11 grandchildren; Kylee, MaKenna, Braden, Jason, Matthew, Julie, Ruby, Enrique, Michael, Alisha, and Christopher and 12 great grandchildren.
Billy Jack was born in Minco, Oklahoma on December 19, 1933. He graduated from Minco High School and went on to attend Central State University graduating in 1956. He served in the Army and later became a teacher/coach after discharge. He met and married Bernice Wilkerson and had four children, which he raised in Choctaw, Oklahoma. He eventually retired from teaching and obtained his CDL. He drove trucks for several more years, until finally retiring from Sonic Corporation.
While Billy Jack loved teaching/coaching, his greatest passion was gardening and canning, which became his new full-time job after his second retirement. He loved to give away his freshly grown garden vegetables and his homemade canned goods.
He was also a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Choctaw Ward for many years. He touched many lives throughout the years. He was loved and adored by many and will truly be missed.
Memorial services for Billy Jack will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM graveside at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Boulevard, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Any floral orders for the memorial service can be sent to Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141 the day of the service.
