Janice Stanton passed July 18, 2015 surrounded by family. She was born April 9, 1935 to Jewell and William Chunn in McAlester, OK, where she grew up. Janice married the love of her life and best friend, John Stanton, and they were together for over 50 years before John’s passing in 2010. Throughout her life she worked for the FBI, where she retired after 35yrs of service in 1997. She, was also an active member and volunteer at Cornerstone Methodist Church (formerly known as May Avenue United Methodist Church), where she belonged for over 30 years. Janice enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, “Taco Bell Wednesdays”, and Friday night dinners with her friends. She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy; her granddaughters Megan and Nicole; two great-grandchildren Donovan and Aliyah; two nephews Carl and Dale; and many cousins. While she will be greatly missed, we are comforted that she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her beloved husband, John Stanton, and others that passed before her.
