Beverly Lynn Phillips-Vaiz, 57, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK. Beverly was born on August 29, 1962 to Carey and Margaret Phillips in Oklahoma City, OK.
In 2001, in Aptos, CA, Beverly met Benjamin Vaiz at church. Little did she know at the time that she had also met her soulmate. Through time, they fell in love and were married for eighteen adventurous years. Together, they fostered three children, Anna, Matthew, and Jazmine. In time they knew they could not go another day without making the three of them a part of their forever family, so they made it official and adopted them. Like her mother, Margaret, Beverly was always known for her loving nature for children and educating them. In 2010, she opened up Kiddie Haven Daycare, a home daycare where she had the opportunity to teach and play a part in the growth of all of her student’s lives.
When Beverly wasn’t teaching, you could always find her planning her next big trip. Her hunger for adventure in life never wavered. From the countryside of Israel, beaches of Jamaica, mountains in Canada, wetlands of the Everglades, walks down the Parisian streets, skydiving in Holister, CA, to the RV trips around the U.S., Beverly did it all. She wanted to see the world with Ben, and she did.
Beverly was many things to many people - a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the matriarch of the Vaiz family, and she was an incredible source of strength; a quirky, caring, compassionate, and extremely loving person who brought the best out of every person she met. Her passion for life and her loved ones was unmatched and her energy will never be replaced.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Phillips (Montera); husband, Benjamin Vaiz; daughter, Anna Nicole Vaiz of Manteca, CA; son, Matthew Benjamin Vaiz, daughter, Jazmine Angelina Vaiz of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Richard Carey Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK; and sisters, Suzanne Phillips Andersen and husband, Gary Andersen, of Ben Lomond, CA, and Carolyn Renae Phillips Ramsey and husband, Bret Ramsey of Chickasha, OK. Beverly also leaves behind six nieces and one nephew to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A funeral service will be held in honor of Beverly on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
