On September 2, 2023, Betty Jane Henderson DeLong, 89, went home to be with the Lord. Betty was born at home on May 21, 1934, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the eighth child of William and Martha Henderson. She was raised in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School. Betty married Bob DeLong and they celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 20, 2012, and her love passed away shortly thereafter. Betty is survived by her daughters Terri (Johnnie) King of Mustang, Pam (Michael) Brown of Piedmont, and Dana (Bill) Larkins of Piedmont. She was the best Grandma to Melissa (Danny) Griffin of Mustang, Robby Moon (Melissa Terrel) of Piedmont, J.J. Taylor of Piedmont, Brandon Taylor of Piedmont, Shauna (Colby) Hall of Piedmont, Jacalyn (Jake) Adkins of Deer Creek, Bryan (Adriane) Taylor of Perry, Betsy (Ryan) Kudron of Piedmont, and Chelsea (Gary) DaVoult of Marlow. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, both of her parents and all of her siblings, including her best friend and sister Pauline Price. She is also predeceased by her special sisters-in-law Billye Tooman and Betty Whisenant and her niece Sandy Short. Betty was a loving mother and homemaker, an amazing cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for her family, especially during the holidays. Betty was always there to help with her grandchildren, whom she adored and also helped many times with her great grandchildren. Her greatest love was her family! Although she was the mother of three and grandmother to nine grandchildren, she always had time for each of us. She provided love and support to everyone, whether it was with a shoulder to cry on or a good belly laugh, she was there for whatever we needed. Mom was a very accomplished seamstress, making amazing formals, a wedding dress, baby clothes, and many of her young daughters’ clothes. She also made beautiful quilts and loved gardening. She was incredible when it came to crossword puzzles, and you never wanted to play Scrabble with her or our Dad. One of Mom and Dad’s passions was dancing. In the past she was a member of Putnam City United Methodist Church and a member of New Hope Sunday School class. Mom and Dad were the heart and soul of our family. We will miss her until we are reunited with her in Heaven. We would like to thank her wonderful caregivers for their love and support; Stephanie Cox, Sharlene Breuninger, and Shantelle Butler.
