She was born to Glenn and Clara Marie Irvin. She was the oldest of 4 children. Two brothers and one sister; Lynn, Wayne, and Brenda. She was raised in Palmyra, Nebraska. At the age of 28 Barbara met Harold, the love of her life in Colorado. They shared 27 beautiful years of marriage until Harold’s passing in 2004. They had a love most can only dream of and will now get to spend the rest of their eternity together.
Over the years Barbara held many different jobs from cooking and waitressing to accounting and secretarial. She did all of this (even he least favorite jobs like Taco Mayo) with a smile to support her greatest love, family. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. Anyone who had the pleasure of getting to know her was quickly adopted into that family. Her loving presence and kind heart made you feel loved and accepted regardless of who you were. She was at her happiest with a cup of coffee in hand and a conversation with good company. She always said that is what she missed the most about losing Harold. She loved their talks every morning at the kitchen table while drinking their coffee. She was that for so many people though. Many will miss the talks they had with her. Whether it be a shoulder to cry on, something to celebrate, or just to talk about life Barbara was always there. She was known by many names’ Mom, Mom Barb, Granny, Grandma, Momo, Grandma Barb, Barbie, and many more. Regardless of the name you called her, we all called her, friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
