Ann Canon Boland, daughter of John and Lillian Boland, born in Yukon, OK May 25, 1953 left this earth on January 29, 2014. She left behind her mother, Lillian, brother, Michael and her devoted cat, Flash, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Ann was born in May, 25, 1953. She came to live with John and Lillian who welcomed her into their family when she was five months old. Three years later, they adopted her brother, Michael. Annie attended Nichols Hills Elementary School, Eisenhower Junior High where she was selected the outstanding flautist. She graduated from Northeast High School. Annie enjoyed competitive sports and played tennis with Quail Creek Tennis Club and swam with the Kerr McGee Swim Team.Annie attended Oklahoma City University 1969-1973, where she majored in Psychology and History. She had a great educational experience touring Holland, France, Germany, England and Mexico. Annie worked in Oklahoma City in advertising for the IED Institute of Energy Development. In 1979, she went to New York, to work as a photo typographer for four years. She was forced to return home because of acute onset of Multiple Sclerosis. Following a lengthy stay at O'Donoghue Rehabilitation Center, where she met her Case Manager, a valued lifelong friend, Dianne DuBose, Annie was able to move to Dallas and work for the John Gregory Group for twelve years. During that time she was able to secure a grant from a national foundation to start a local chapter for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She moved back to OKC where she continued her support of the MS Society and participated in the Zeta Phi Eta Sorority.During these last few years, Annie was particularly appreciative of her oncologist, Dr. Parker and a long time friend and advocate, Susan Morris. She was blessed by the wonderful care from the staff at Forest Glade Assisted Living Center, Emerald Square Assisted Living Center, Crossroads Hospice, and the kind support of her family, and many special friends. Wherever Annie resided, her positive attitude and humor were contagious endearing people around her. Annie was dearly loved by many and will greatly missed. Lillian and Michael express their appreciation and love for all your support. Memorial Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Hahn-Cook/ Street & Draper.
