Anneliese M. Lancaster passed from this life in Norman, Oklahoma March 8 2011. Born April 15, 1930 in Wiesbaden, Germany to Franz and Elizabeth Heinle. She was married to Frank Bettis for 18 years, as an Air Force wife the family was stationed overseas and across the country, having children born in three different states. She proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1953.
For the past 50 years Anne was a resident of Midwest City, employed many years as a medical receptionist. She was also recognized for her long time service as a Red Cross volunteer at Tinker A.F.B. In 1970 she married Major Vaughn T. Lancaster and remained his devoted wife until his passing two years ago. They enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends around the world. Anne enjoyed sewing and reading. Her greatest joy was cooking for her family, friends . . . and her beloved Huskies. In spite of her illness Anne continued to display her sunny disposition, her legacy will be her undying faith in the Lord.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son Keith Lancaster, and grandson Daniel Bostick. She is survived by two brothers, Siege and Dieter Heinle; sons Clifford Bettis and wife Linda, Stuart Lancaster and wife Dana; daughters Sylvia and husband Tony, Teresa Veragen and husband Pierre, Shirley Gilliam and husband Emmett, Kathy Kirby and husband Michael; fourteen grand-children and ten great grand-children.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St. Oklahoma, City, OK with burial to follow in Arlington Cemetery, Midwest City. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK.
