Allan Dubose Kemble, Jr.

November 16, 1919 – February 7, 2018

Allan Dubose Kemble passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City on February 7, 2018.

Born in Ennis, Texas on November 16, 1919 and raised in Waxahachie, Texas, Allan was the son of Esther and Allan Kemble, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian; his son, Jack R. Foster; and his son in law, Gene P. Morrell.

Allan is survived by his daughter, Jan Morrell and his daughter in law, Elizabeth Foster. Allan is also survived by five grandchildren and their spouses: Jan Shore and husband, Pat; Jeff Morrell and wife Mary; John Foster and wife Diane; Kelly Duenner and husband Anthony; and Rob Morrell and wife Libbye and ten great grandchildren, Sarah and husband Ryan, Erin, Andrew, Stuart, Kaki, Sam, Joe, Smith, Brooks and Pierce. Cousin, Peggy Crabtree; and numerous other relatives from the Dubose, Kemble and Bradshaw families. Additionally, Allan leaves some very special friends that he considered family, including Aurora and Sam Arrambide, Gloria and Javier Mata and their sons Jay and Aaron and the Jim Pitts family.

Allan graduated from Waxahachie High School and Trinity College. He served in the United States Army during World War II, predominantly in the Pacific Theatre. Allan returned to Waxahachie after the war and worked with his father, “Big Allan”, in the cotton business as a cotton broker. In December of 1955, he married the love of his life, Lillian Redman Foster. Allan took a job as a wholesale, ladies ready to wear salesman. He worked out of the Dallas Apparel Mart where he had a showroom, but spent many years traveling and selling Country Miss Dresses and other lines to stores across the country.

Allan was loved by many and will be fondly remembered by all that knew him. More than one person has said that Allan was one of a kind and there will never be another like him. With his unique sense of humor, Allan brightened the world of all who crossed his path.

On Friday, February 23r at 1:00 pm Allan’s family will hold a graveside service celebrating his life at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of one’s choice.
