Alice Katherine "Katie" Vaughn

Alice Katherine "Katie" Vaughn, 93, passed away November 15, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born September 7, 1919 in Oklahoma City to Donovan and Sadie (Johnson) Wagner. Katie graduated from Classen High School. She married Thomas John "T.J." Vaughn on September 6, 1942. Two sons were born to this union. Katie's younger brother, Bill D. Wagner, came to live with the family after the death of his parents in 1954. She worked as an office manager for Henry G. Bennett, Jr., gynecologist and Chief of Staff at Baptist Hospital. Katie and T.J. were founding members of The Village United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the Triple Trio at the church. She was an avid reader. Katie was a devoted mother, sister and grandmother who looked forward to spending time with her family and organizing family gatherings. She is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Vaughn, Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Don H. Vaughn and his wife, Sarah; brother, Bill Wagner, and his wife, Joann; Bill's children, Donavan, Wade and Anna; sister, Donna Morrison and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Laura Vaughn and her husband, Justin, Ryan Vaughn, Cliff Vaughn and his wife, Deanna, and Jill Steed and her husband, Will; three step-grandchildren, Brittany, Zachary and Wesley Ruedy; and seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brock, Katherine, Nicole, Jacquelyn, Elizabeth and T.J.
