Albert Eugene “Gene” Swearingen, 84 year-old resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away at his home, Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Born October 20, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Albert Dean Swearingen and Rosa LaVerda (Spence) Swearingen.
Gene had served his country in the Air Force during the late 1940’s and was the former Postmaster at Arcadia, Oklahoma. He also raised cattle and registered quarter horses. He loved playing the guitar; hunting; traveling; attending church and reading the Bible. Survivors include 1 brother, Marion Swearingen of Edmond, OK; 1 sister, Joyce Fuller of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2012.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73141 with Reverend Keith Henley officiating. Burial will follow in Luther Cemetery, Luther, Oklahoma, with services under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
