Alan Ray Rowlan, M.D., F.A.C.S., a much loved father and skilled surgeon, dedicated to the service of others, passed away Thursday, August 25 at his home in Oklahoma City at the age of 48. Born to Patricia and Orvel Rowlan on December 1, 1967 in Enid, Oklahoma. A graduate of Mannford High School, active in wrestling and football . Alan attended Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado and finished his undergraduate education at Oklahoma State University. He completed medical school at The University of Oklahoma in 1996 and went on to become a General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgery. He practiced in the Oklahoma City area starting in 2001. Alan touched the lives of countless people. His commitment to healing those he served was his sole focus. His other greatest love was his four beautiful and amazing children: Jordan, 25; Kaitlin, 23; Madelyn, 13 and Sullivan, 11. He found joy in sharing his adventurous spirit, love of the outdoors and his value of family. Alan is survived by his parents, children, sisters Debora, Pamella and Shelly; brothers Lynn and Dan and many cherished nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues and the community in which he served. All will miss him dearly. Alan was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church. Visitation Tuesday, August 30, 2016, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 11:00 a.m., August 31, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1901 NW 18th St. Graveside service will be held in Mannford, Oklahoma at a later date.
