Wayne was a Godly man and an active member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
After graduating in 1956 from Southeast High School, he soon met the love of his life Martha Swearengin in 1957. They married December 22, 1959. They went on to have two children, Diana and Bobby.
He proudly served his country from 1960-1962 in the US Army. He was stationed in Ulm, Germany, where his first child was born.
After the army, Wayne began his career in fencing construction. He went on to be a successful business owner of a residential and commercial fence company for many years.
In 1998, Wayne retired and spent his time traveling, fishing, and enjoying his retirement with the love of his life.
Wayne loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He loved all sports and was team member of the big red machine fast pitch softball team for over 20 years. He was very active in watching and coaching his children’s and grandchildren’s activities throughout his life. He was so in love with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved playing with the little ones, and his favorite dog Jolie.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Chester and Supreme Lambert, brothers: Art Lambert, Joe Lambert, Leon Lambert, and sisters: Betty Inman, and Mary Swearengin. He is survived by wife, Martha Lambert, children: Diana Altizer and husband Gary, Bobby Lambert and wife Paula, 2 grandchildren: Dustin Lambert and Jesse Lambert, and 11 great grandkids.
A come-and-go visitation for Wayne will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral celebration service will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Covington Community Cemetery, 8700 State Hwy 74, Covington, OK 73739.
