Valerie L. Murdock

A graveside service for Valerie L. Murdock, 49, of Ogdensburg will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Valerie passed away Saturday afternoon (August 29, 2020) at Carthage Center Nursing Home.

Valerie was born February 24, 1971 to Edna (Durham) Webb and the late James Webb in Ogdensburg, NY. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued her education at SUNY Canton, where she graduated from the nursing program. She married Dean Murdock on September 22, 2005.

Val was a nurse and worked at St. Joesph’s Nursing Home, Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, and Ivy Ridge private school before retiring.

She is survived by her husband Dean, her mother Edna Webb of Ogdensburg, a daughter Kathleen (Scott Vallance) Yerden of Norfolk, sons Cody (Raymi Dupuy) Yerden and Chevy (Bailey Luther) Yerden, both of Ogdenbsurg, step children Dean Murdock III of Canton and Mandy Murdock of Syracuse, brothers James Webb of Kentucky, Steven (Lily Van Ornum) Webb of Ogdensburg and Brian (Kara Besio) Webb of Norfolk, grandchildren Cresson Gilbo III, Abagail Vallance, Amelia Luther, Elle Willow and Varnie Murdock and Zamari, Zackery and Zariah German, a little miracle baby on the way, special nieces Tiffany and Kira Webb, as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father James, many aunt and uncles and her maternal grandparents Kenneth and Kathleen (Kitts) Durham.

Val loved coloring, but her main focus was her family and especially her grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family, always there to nurture her children and grandchildren and always kept in touch with her family. She was strong-willed and always pushed herself and strived to stay active.
