Funeral services for Sherry A. Watson, age 75 of Black Lake will be held on Saturday (Sept 5, 2015) beginning with calling hours at 10:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm at the Hammond Presbyterian Church with Rev. Norma P. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Cedar Cemetery on Black Lake.
Surviving is her husband Richard “Dick”; two brothers John (Karen) Adam of Fredericksburg, VA and Spencer (Christine) Adam of Rochester, NY; two sister-in-laws Paula Tardibone of Auburn NY and Janet Adam of Webster NY; five nieces, four nephews and eleven great nieces & nephews.
Two brothers James Adam in 1984 and Gary Adam in 1975 predeceased her.
Sherry was born on February 8, 1940 in Waterloo NY, a daughter of the late John & Ersel (Thompson) Adam. She graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls and continued her education at SUNY Cortland where she received a BA degree in education.
She married Richard “Dick” Watson on October 8, 1977 in Seneca Falls. During her career she was employed as a math teacher at Romulus Central School in Romulus for 31 years, and retired in 1992.
Sherry was a member of the Cedar Grange, St. Lawrence County Pomona Grange, New York State Grange, American Legion Auxiliary in Seneca Falls, and the Delta Kappa Gamma. She was the treasurer for the Black Lake Association for several years, treasurer and deacon of the Hammond First Presbyterian Church, a member of the New York State Retired Teachers, and former president of the B.P.W. Sherry loved to dance, especially line dancing, gardening, walking, reading and socializing at the Bella Brooke Winery with her husband Dick.
