Funeral services for Ruth Seaman Bayne, age 91 of County Route 10, DePeyster will be held at 11:00am on Saturday (August 1, 2015) at the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Heuvelton with Rev. Carl Chapman, Rev. Paul Dettmer, Rev. Larry Baney & Pastor David Norman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton.
Calling hours will be held at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mrs. Bayne passed away Sunday morning (July 26, 2015) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Surviving is her husband George; 3 sons Mark Bayne of Churchville NY, Stephen Bayne & his companion Marilyn Moore and E. Phillip (Shelley) Bayne both of DePeyster; a daughter Mrs. James (Judy) Morgan of Churchville NY; 4 grandchildren Zachary & Ethan Morgan, Elizabeth Otis and Brianna (Kevin) Koerick; step grandson Patrick Umphries; 2 special little boys Macks & Drake Hollis; an unborn great-granddaughter; 2 sister-in-laws, Erma Seaman of Malone & Helen Seaman of Queensbury; along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Rev. Ralph “Clayton” Seaman, Chester Seaman, Rev. Elton Seaman and Rev. Edwin Seaman; and 1 sister Beatrice Hayes.
Ruth was born on August 30, 1923 in Long Lake NY, a daughter of the late Clayton & Alice (Wolcott) Seaman. She later married George E. Bayne on Jan 24, 1948 at the Heuvelton Wesleyan Church with the ceremony being performed by her brother Rev. Edwin Seaman. After their marriage, the couple lived and worked at the Bayne homestead farm in Macomb until purchasing their own farm in DePeyster in 1951. The farm is still operated years later by their sons Stephen & Phillip. Ruth also worked many years as a bookkeeper at Aiello Cheese and for the family farm.
She was an active member of the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church where she was the church organist for many years and served as a treasurer for 60 years. She and her husband George sang countless duets while she accompanied on the piano.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, being a caregiver for others and welcoming visitors for countless meals.
