Funeral services for Dr. Roy Livingston, DDS age 94 of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday (March 30, 2019) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael O’Donnell officiating. Burial will be at the Hermon Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held also on Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dr. Livingston passed away at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Canton on Thursday (March 28, 2019).
Surviving is his daughter Dr. Colleen Livingston & her husband Clarence “Clancy” Gratto of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Christopher and his wife Katherine Gratto of Jersey City, NJ and Andre Gratto of Brooklyn NY; great-grandchildren Benjamin & Claire Gratto and a sister-in-law Sr. Mary Precious of Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Livingston was predeceased by three brothers Dr. Howard Livingston, Dr. Samuel Livingston and Dr. Harold Livingston.
He was born on December 22, 1924 in Galilee NY, a son of the late Charles C. & Addie Mae (Chambers) Livingston. He graduated from Heuvelton High School, attended St. Lawrence University for one year and transferred to Houghton College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree. He again continued his education at Boston University where he earned a Master’s Degree and later received his Doctorate Degree from Suny Buffalo Dental School.
Dr. Livingston later married Gloria E. Morgan on March 3, 1945 at the Heuvelton Methodist Church. The couple remained hand in hand during the many years of Roy’s dental practice in Canton, and continued throughout their years of marriage. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, water and downhill skiing, winters on Marco Island, visiting the Adirondacks, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
