Burial will follow the service at Ogdensburgh Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held also on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Towe passed away at her home on Saturday, August 19, 2017 with her loving son Jeremy by her side.
Surviving is her son, Jeremy Towe of Ogdensburg; a brother, Derek Hartley; a sister, Anne Knight; two nieces, Della Mepham and Sally Ann Wilks and her husband Robert; a nephew, Patrick Hartley and his wife Heldene; special friends, Ann Tuckwell and Dawn Parrot all of England; a brother-in-law, Terry Towe of Morristown; and a sister-in-law, Rosalie Towe of Potsdam.
Her husband Charles “Bob” Towe predeceased her in 2010.
Mary was born on May 3, 1937 in Northleach, England, a daughter of the late Alfred and Helen (Watkins) Hartley.
She graduated from Northleach Church of England High School and later married Charles “Bob” R. Towe on January 3, 1958 in Cirencester, England.
In 1966 she and her husband moved to the United States.
During the years she was employed at JJ Newberry’s, Woolworth Department Store, Jack & Jill Nursery School and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center where she retired from in 2012, after 17 years of dedicated service. She also raised foster children in her home for 20 years.
Mary enjoyed going for rides, visiting with friends, watching British shows on television, cleaning, puttering around the house, gardening, playing with her pets, talking to relatives in England and spending time with her son, Jeremy who was her devoted caregiver.
