Mary M. Larock

Funeral services for Mary Margaret Larock, age 83 formerly of the Fulton Rd Lisbon, will be held on Sunday (April 15, 2018) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael O’Donnell officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon.

Calling hours will be held also on Sunday from 12:00noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Larock passed away on Wednesday (April 11, 2018) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving are her children Ivan (Andrea) Larock of Lisbon; Bonnie (William) Paige of W. Potsdam, Debbie (Ed) Anderson of Port Byron, and Betty Lou (Mark) Powers of Auburn; sisters Nettie Palmer of Rensselaer Falls, Cassie Donnelly of Hammond, Wanda McGaw of Ogdensburg and Nancy (Arthur) Shattuck of Edwards; a brother David (Anne) Donnelly of Heuvelton; grandchildren Nicole Brooks of Norwood, Brian Paige of Potsdam, Sunny Larock (Jamen Lovely) of Ogdensburg, Marilyn Beldock of Ogdensburg, Kevin Kenny of Alexandria VA, Kyle (Jessica) Kenny of Floyd NY, Elizabeth Powers of Auburn, Tyler (Sierra) Powers of Auburn; great-grandchildren Paige Brooks, Logan Brooks, Lauren Beldock, Evan Kenny, Ethan Kenny, Thea Kenny, Macy Beldock & Parker Powers; a god child Sherree Rotella of Margaretville NY along with several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Ivan Larock; two infant sons Stephen and James Larock; a sister Marjorie Howes, brothers Arlen, Donald, Robert, and Howard Donnelly; and in-laws Albert Palmer, Ronald McGaw and Linda Donnelly.

Mary was born on December 16, 1934 in Dickinson’s Landing Ontario, a daughter of the late Percy & Eileen (Ogle) Donnelly. She moved to the US at the age of 10, lived on Croil’s Island and went to school in Massena. She then moved to Lisbon in 1951 and went to Lisbon High School and became a US citizen on November 8, 1957. She was married to Ivan G. Larock on April 21, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Heuvelton by Rev. William Loan. She and her husband spent all of their married life on the Fulton Road, and were foster parents to several children in the 1960’s.

During her career, she was employed in the food service department at Lisbon Central School, the Cascade Inn Restaurant and later at the P&C grocery store for 17 years until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking and spending time with her family. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Heart Association.
