Marie F. Bamberg

Surviving are two sons, Christopher (Christina) Bamberg of Carthage, Frederick (Barbara) Bamberg of Pasadena TX; three daughters, Renee (Gavin) Saunders of Wasilla, AK, Beatrice Bamberg of Buffalo NY, and Donna Cole of Penobscot, ME; 18 grandchildren; dozens of great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; a brother Michael Johnson of Maryland; a sister Joan Georges of West Virginia; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Willard (Bill), her daughter Dolores Bamberg, and her brother Wayne L. Taylor.

Marie was born on March 2, 1932 in Washington DC, a daughter of the late Wayne S. Taylor & Mary A. (Granger) Johnson. She graduated from college and was later married to Willard George Bamberg Jr. in Maryland on September 11, 1954.

During her career she worked for the United States Airforce in the 50’s; Buffalo Bills in the early 60’s, and multiple agencies in the Buffalo area as a secretary during the 70’s & 80’s. She also wrote columns for Buffalo area newspapers in the 70’s and ran her own business from home in the 80’s. She and Bill retired to Florida in 1990 before moving to North Carolina in 2010, and then to Carthage after Bill’s death.

She enjoyed reading scripture and books, table games, card games, puzzles & crosswords. She loved being with her family the most, especially spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her eyes lit up when she saw or spoke of her family.
