Les was born September 11, 1942, in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Levi and Cecil (Pierce) Parish. Leslie attended high school at Lisbon Central School and went to work for McKeever’s Store and the farm. Leslie found his passion working with cars, doing transports and working as a mechanic for Mort Backus and Sons, Inc for over 35 years. He was known for his Studebaker car when he was younger and always willing to lend a helping hand to others with his knowledge of engines.
Mr. Parish was a regular at Fire Department and Church events, especially for pancake breakfasts, fish fry’s and BBQ’s. He enjoyed going to car shows and tractor pulls. He enjoyed making his rounds for breakfast, lunch and dinner, frequenting McDonald’s breakfast, Phillips Diner and Stewarts Shops.
Leslie was predeceased by his parents, Levi and Cecil Parish; and his best friend, his brother, Fay Parish.
A special thank you would like to be extended to the Lisbon Highway Department for their exceptional care and hard work they put in.
