Karen D. Wight, age 75 of Ogdensburg passed away on Thursday (June 7, 2018) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Foxwood Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday (June 14th) from 11:00am – 1:00pm. There will be no funeral service. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her son Andrew Wight of Ogdensburg; a grandson Isiah Wight of Morgantown, VA; a brother James (Diane) Durr of Ogdensburg; sister-in-law Mary Durr of Ogdensburg; nephews Kevin (Jennifer) Durr and John Durr; nieces Michelle (Mark) Maroney & Amanda (Jason) Notareschi; great-nieces & nephews Emily, McKenna & Avery Durr, Marney & John Durr III, Mason & Mya Maroney, Lucy, Evelyn & Hattie Notareschi along with many friends.
Her brother John Durr predeceased her.
Karen was born on April 12, 1943 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of James & Mildred (Reed) Durr. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1961, and continued her education at the Ogdensburg Business School.
During her career she worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and the Canton Potsdam Hospital doing secretarial work. She was a former member of the Ogdensburg Women’s bowling league and Vice-President of the CYC Deanery.
Karen enjoyed being on the St. Lawrence River, reading, her camp, fishing, laughing and spending time with family.
