Funeral services for Floyd F. Kessel, age 89 of Morristown will be held on Saturday (Jan 25, 2014) at 1:00pm at Foxwood Memorial Park; 5968 SH 812; Ogdensburg, NY with Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
There will be no public calling hours. Mr. Kessel passed away at Claxton Hepburn Medical on Friday (Jan 17, 2014). Arrangements are with Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is his son Timothy Kessel & his wife Laurie of Warners, NY; a daughter Amy Cummer of Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren Jennifer Cummer, Hailee Kessel and Scott Kessel. His wife Eva Jane and a grandson Paul Cummer predeceased him.
Floyd was born on June 8, 1924 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Frederick & Ida (Gass) Kessel. He graduated from Lancaster High School, and enlisted in the US Army during WWII. He married Eva Jane Van Buskirk on Sept 20, 1947. After his marriage he resided in Lancaster, NY where he owned and operated Kessel's heating & airconditioning. In 1977, the couple relocated to Black Lake where they operated Kessel’s Cottages for many years. He retired in 1996.
