Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Pearl Chauvin, age 89 of Ogdensburg and formerly of Plattsburgh will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday (Oct 14, 2021) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with her son-in-law Deacon Anthony Pastizzo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held also on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Chauvin passed away at St. Joseph’s Home on Monday (Oct 11, 2021).
Surviving are her children Michael (Theresa) Chauvin of Red Hook NY, David (Nancy) Chauvin of Syracuse, Susan Kelly-Killeen of Seattle WA, Julie (John) McCoy of Oklahoma, Cheryl (Anthony) Pastizzo of Ogdensburg and Mary Mattila & her companion Ron Sears of Palm Bay, FL; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; a brother Cleo (Judy) Kelly of Portland ME; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
A brother Michael Kelly and a sister Jen Searsay predeceased her.
Betty was born on July 31, 1932 in Moriah NY, a daughter of the late Michael & Pearl Elizabeth (Gauthier) Kelly. She graduated from Dannemora High School and later married Edward Chauvin.
Betty began her career as a waitress and later returned to college where she obtained her associates degree in her 50’s. She worked as a library aid at Clinton Community College until age 78 when she retired.
She was a past member of the St. John’s Church in Keesville, NY where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters/Sodality. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her family.
