A Memorial Service for Edward A. Foster, age 84, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery in Lisbon.
Visitation will take place before the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Mr. Foster passed away at St. Joseph’s Home on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his son, John (Stacey) Foster of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Marissa Foster (Tristen Phippen), Ellie Foster, Emily Sharpe, Leah & Thomas Thatcher; and a great-grandson, Tucker Phippen.
Edward was born on April 23, 1940, in Ogdensburg, the son of Earl & Edna (Kiah) Foster. He was raised by his father, Earl, and his wife, Frances (Cook) Foster. He attended the George Hall High School, and later married June (Bray). Though their marriage ended, they remained friends.
Ed worked as a fuel truck driver for George Hall and Foster Fuels, as well as for McCadam Cheese in Heuvelton, where he was employed for over 30 years. He retired in 1999. Ed was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ogdensburg, and he enjoyed spending time on the St. Lawrence River boating and fishing. He also enjoyed socializing with friends, having coffee at Stewarts, and being with his grandchildren.
