Dear Lester, Valerie, Dennis and Richard,  We were so sadden to hear of Doreen’s passing. 

She was such a bright light. I fondly remember the visits that we had with her when she came to Ottawa, my gosh, the laughs that we would have. I recall one time when she was leaving our house after a visit along with Ruth and Doris, she reversed out of the laneway and proceeded to drive the wrong way on our one way street, Mom and I were waving our hands to her, she stopped and we told her “you’re going the wrong way”. Doreen’s answer was pure her “oh well I’m only going one way”. 

Every time we drove over, we’d pop into Walmart to see her

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Your mom was wonderful lady.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was always so kind. I loved our chats and as I write this I still can hear her laugh. She spoke  proudly of her Canadian Nationality and of her children and grandchildren often going above and beyond for them.
Her history of hard work is now over.  May she forever rest in peace & is now your guiding angel.

I remember going back to the mid 1960’s when Cam and Doreen, along with my mom and stepdad, Ken and Bea Lawless, went out together and had some great adventures. They were rock and roll moms too, supporting Les and myself as we became musicians.
